Removing smoke odour from your electronics takes time. Because these devices are vulnerable to damage when they are not handled properly, liquid cleaners are not appropriate to use for risk of destroying the equipment’s internal components. Hence, the safest way to take out the odour is to air out the machine.

First, disconnect the electronic item from its power supply. Safely remove the cover by unscrewing it and save the screws in a sealed plastic bag. After keeping the screws, spray the internal component with short bursts of compressed air to remove the dust and lint that contain smoke odours. Then, put the open components in a protected area outside since fresh air can easily get rid of the put off odours. Otherwise, put it in a smoke-free room and use an electric fan to let the odour out. For the metal and plastic covers, wipe them it with paper towels to release the smoke residue and clean the vent holes with alcohol. Wait for such time that the odour disappears, depending on the amount of smoke that your equipment was exposed to.
