Negative Feedback

Negative Feedback

Negative feedback is the process whereby a portion of the output voltage of an amplifier is returned to the input with a phase angle that opposes (i.e. subtracts from) the input signal.

We use this to make the gain more realistic (i.e. not thousands!!) so that the output is not driven into saturation.

Feedback helps to control the gain.
